Decision for accreditation of Drinking Water Laboratories with NABL: Minister Shri Pans
Rs. 26.56 crore provision for modernization of laboratories

The Minister for Public Health Engineering Shri Sukhdev Panse said that in order to provide clean drinking water to the common man, the state government has decided for accreditation of Drinking Water Laboratories with the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). He informed that a provision of total Rs. 26 crore 56 lakh has been made in the departmental budget for maintenance and modernization of drinking water laboratories.
Shri Panse further stated that the State has 51 district level and 104 sub-division level laboratories to test drinking water quality. A provision of Rs. 22 crore 50 lakh has been made in the budget for their maintenance and modernization. Similarly, A provision of Rs. 4 crore 6 lakh has been made in this year's budget for construction of new buildings of 30 laboratories and upgradation of old buildings.
