-New Initiative – Launch of series of campaigns to celebrate International Women’s Day and share inspiring stories about female employees in the organization
New Delhi, March 8, 2021: Hindustan Power continues its commitment to celebrate and enable women leaders on International Women’s Day 2021.
To empower woman and showcase their hardwork, Hindustan Power, the leading energy company, ran a series of campaigns throughout the week to celebrate International Women’s Day 2021. The company has launched many initiatives to celebrate the spirit of womanhood in the organisation.
The campaign was kick-started with the inspiring stories of female employees that talks about their key attributes, achievements, and uniqueness. The employees came to know about their female colleagues and appreciated their efforts. Through such stories, the aim was to generate awareness on issues such as gender equality and diversity.
One of the unique initiatives that was launched and appreciated by employees was “ She inspires me” contest through which the employees were asked to share stories about a woman who inspired them in their life – it could be a mother, sister, wife, daughter or any woman who impact their lives – the response of the contest was spectacular and employees have shared vivid stories and heart touching stories about the women they were get inspired by. The best story was awarded with a certificate of appreciation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ratul Puri, Chairman – Hindustan Power said, “We are committed to create meaningful change and have conducted a wide range of activities that make an impact and matter to women. I understand that the unprecedented time during the pandemic had been tough. However, even during those tough times, I admire the dedication of our female colleagues towards their work and the organization. Our organization aims to provide a comprehensive ecosystem to all our employees to better leverage their skillset, business acumen and up-skilling opportunities. Women are an integral part of the dynamic workforce. We have female employees working out of the plant, providing solutions to complicated challenges. Power sector is one of the most challenging sectors and we are proud that so many women are contributing in a big way in this challenging and growing sector. “
The company had announced three awards dedicated to its female employees for the first time to acknowledge the efforts of women associates who have been working in different functions and contributing to the company’s growth. A jury had been constituted to decide the winners of the award and a transparent process had been set up. The awards have been constituted under the three categories: Most Inspiring Woman, Most Promising Woman, and S-Heroes of HPPPL. The women employees’ are also featured on the social media page of the company.
